The Pendleton County Sheriff's Office and West Virginia State Police make most local arrests. Federal agencies can act in federal matters. When detention is ordered, deputies or troopers transport the person to Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility in Augusta. The state facility serves five counties. How to Look Up Pendleton County Arrests

The public arrest record is narrower than the full intake file. WVDCR may hold internal identity, health, screening, property, and classification data that the public profile does not show. Under West Virginia FOIA request procedure, the custodian must act within five business days by producing records, arranging inspection, or denying in writing with reasons.
The period is a response rule, not a promise that a large request will be fully copied within five days. WVSP-created reports go to the WVSP Legal Section at 304-746-2100.
