1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website operated independently from government. We do not store official records, submit filings, retrieve records, or perform official background checks.

The content identifies custodians of Pendleton County records, including the Sheriff, Magistrate and Circuit Court clerks, West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, and West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also provide access to tools run by outside companies.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Each visitor agrees not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means against the website
• Interfere with site performance or another person's access
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
• Use site information to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
• Rely on site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No visitor may use information from this website or a linked tool to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or discriminate against anyone. The restriction is especially important for the West Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry. Disclosure is governed by the West Virginia Sex Offender Registration Act, W. Va. Code §15-12-5, and the registry permits information to be used for appropriate safety precautions, not threats or harassment. Vigilante conduct and discriminatory use are prohibited.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, background checks, or other consumer reports. Our advertising partners do not make these site tools available for screening applicants, setting insurance rates, reviewing rental applications, or assessing credit. A visitor may not use this site or a linked tool to:

• Make any other decision regulated by the FCRA
• Assess creditworthiness or establish an insurance premium
• Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
• Make a hiring or termination decision

A check needed for an FCRA-regulated purpose must come through an authorized, FCRA-compliant provider. West Virginia repository disclosures are also subject to the written authorization rule in W. Va. Code §15-2-24(d).
